Charlotte Radiology taps Carolina PR to Promote Breast Health Awareness

One in eight women is affected by breast cancer.

And Charlotte Radiology, one of the Southeast’s largest radiology practices, wants to spread that word – and the need for early detection and treatment. The practice hired Carolina PR to help promote their efforts during October, which is breast cancer awareness month.

Carolina PR helped plan a community Breast Health Awareness event held in early October at Ben and Jerry’s ice cream shop in Charlotte. Ben and Jerry’s served cones for eight cents, to tie in with Charlotte Radiology’s “one in eight women” message. At the event, Molly Grantham, of Charlotte’s WBTV and WJZY, served as a guest scooper to help focus more attention on breast cancer awareness. Charlotte Radiology was on-hand to provide educational materials about breast cancer. Throughout October, all Charlotte-area Ben and Jerry’s will sell "Quarts for the Cure" with 25 percent of sales donated to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

In addition to promotions for the Breast Health Awareness Event, Carolina PR is also promoting Charlotte Radiology’s other breast cancer awareness activities including:

•    Special java jackets on coffee cups at local coffee shops, including Starbucks
•    Placing “Spread the Word” message boxes at high visibility locations throughout Charlotte and delivering them to local media
•    Charlotte Radiology’s beatcancerCR.com Web site
•    A Gastonia breast center breast health event
•    Charlotte Radiology physician interviews on WLNK’s The Satisfied Life with Pam Stone and Ramona Holloway
